Hey, just wanted to give everyone a heads-up about a couple of fests that are imminent and promise to be a lot of fun and some very good reading! I've got fics in both, so of course I'm excited to share them, but I'm also really excited to read all the other great stories we're sure to find.

D/Hr Advent begins tomorrow, December 1st. It's at AO3, though you can also follow it on here on DW and also on LJ:

And, a bit in advance, there's also the Dramione Couples Remix, which is always wonderful too. You never know what's going to turn up there, and this year, the fest is anonymous. We don't know which couples are being remixed or by whom! So- lots of surprises. That begins December 10th, I believe.

D/Hr Advent 2012 has begun! The nominations phase is from September 15 - September 20. Nominate your favorite D/Hr authors and artists to write a seasonal one-shot or draw a Christmas pic. You can nominate as many people as you’d like!

I've been getting a small spate of PMs asking me if I still have AO3 invites, so in light of the FF.net deletions, I thought I'd make a post offering them up to the Dramione community.

I have a ton of invites, and in the interests of offering more archival options to authors, if you want one, either:

Round 2 of the Dramione Remix (

dramione_remix) wrapped up not too long ago. The idea behind the remix was that "participants will choose from a list of famous couples throughout history, mythology, literature, folklore, legend, etc. Then they will remix the original couples' story, choosing whatever elements of the original story that they find inspiring to create a brand new Dramione fic or piece of art!"

I decided to do a list of my personal favorites, as there were a significant number of entries, particularly long ones.

The following rec list is a reflection of my personal taste, with a loose focus on works that reinterpreted a central concept or theme.

A/N:Written for the otterandferret exchange.The prompt: 'I let go. Lost in oblivion. Dark and silent and complete. I found freedom. Losing all hope was freedom.' I found it a very interesting quote and tired to use it as the base theme for my piece. Placebo's cover of 'Runing Up That Hill' was a heavy infuence on this fic I listened to it many times while writing this piece.
Summery: An Order raid leads to the capture of Draco Malfoy and Vincente Crabbe. It has been six months since Draco was captured, five since Crabbe broke down, four since he last spoke, three since Granger informed him his father was dead, two since Potter himself interigated him and one month ago Draco gave up. Things change, Draco feels liberated and starts to think and then Granger provokes him into breaking his silence.

Otter and Ferret Forever 2012 is a nine-month long prompt fest. Otter and Ferret Forever 2012 uses prompts from the Otter and Ferret Gift Exchange 2012, and prompts can be filled multiple times.

There is no word-minimum or word-limit on works, and works are revealed at the time of posting. No sign-ups are required, and the fest is not anonymous.

The OWL fanfiction archive is going to be permanently shut-down at the end of April. The mods suggest that everyone collect what they wish from the site (stories, reviews, etc.) before that date.

The Announcement:

Global: Tauri.org is closing on 4-30-2012
As of 4-30-2012, tauri.org will be closing - for several reasons, not the least of which is hardware. The machine has been running 24x7 since the site first went live, and has clearly been showing its age. It will continue to be checked and rebooted daily until the end of the month. At that time, it will be powered off. Any information needed from the site (stories, reviews, etc.) must be collected before that time.

I don't have anything to do with the OWL site, but I figured that I'd help spread the news about this archive closure. I skimmed through the site and there were a number of Draco/Hermione stories archived there, so I thought that I'd let the community know about this turn of events.

Missed the January Otter and Ferret sign-ups? Looking for a small, low-key fest? Or maybe you've finished your Otter and Ferret exchange piece or pinch-hit, but need more Hermione/Draco in your life? Otter and Ferret Mini-Fest may be interesting to you!

Otter and Ferret Mini-Fest is an anonymous prompt pick-up mini-fest, whereby all prompts from sign-ups and those left by pinch-hitters are offered up as free-game for the ten days prior to Otter and Ferret works reveals. The intention is to have a fun, low-key mini-fest of small works.

The fest is mini in two ways: All works must be under 1,000 words and the fest only lasts for about 10 days!

Also, prompts can be fulfilled multiple times! If you and four of your best friends all want to write for the same prompt, go ahead! The fest will run from April 17th - 28th.

Otter and Ferret is an annual Hermione Granger/Draco Malfoy gift exchange that runs from January through early May, and it is in need of pinch-hitters! If you're interested in pinch-hitting for Otter and Ferret, check out the call for pinch-hitters post on
